Short Description: The Certified Dental Assistant Program prepares learners to become skilled, confident dental professionals capable of supporting dentists in today’s fast?paced dental practices. This comprehensive program combines healthcare fundamentals, clinical dentistry, radiographic imaging, infection control, and patient care with professional communication and administrative skills. Graduates are prepared to pursue certification through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) and enter a rewarding career at the center of oral healthcare delivery.

Instructor Description: Though this program is a self-paced program it is supported by an educational mentor. Educational mentors are subject matter experts who have years of experience in their field as well as the necessary educational training and credentials to work as an expert. The mentor is available to answer any questions a learner may have including questions on course content, course material, certifications, and even industry questions. Mentors also monitor the progress of learners to ensure training retention and program advancement. In eLearning, motivation is a key tool to success. Because of this, mentors provide encouraging comments, feedback, and coaching to motivate learners throughout the duration of the program to support completion and success!

Certification: DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) Certification
The DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential is earned by passing three component exams:

General Chairside Assisting (GC)
Radiation Health and Safety (RHS)
Infection Control (ICE)

? These exams are included in your program tuition.
Certification Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the CDA certification, candidates must meet all of the following:

High school diploma or equivalent, and
At least 3,500 hours of approved dental assisting work experience, and
Current hands?on CPR, BLS, or ACLS certification from a DANB?accepted provider


Alternative Pathway: NELDA Certification
Students who do not meet the CDA eligibility requirements may pursue the National Entry?Level Dental Assistant (NELDA) certification.
The NELDA credential consists of the following three component exams:

Anatomy, Morphology, and Physiology (AMP)
Infection Control (ICE)
Radiation Health and Safety (RHS)

• Microsoft Office or a Word Processing application to save and open Microsoft Office formats (.doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx)
• Internet Browsers - Google Chrome is highly recommended
